Mairead Finnerty is a second year Computer Science student at Texas A&M University, where she is also pursuing a minor in Cybersecurity. Through her coursework, she has built a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software development. She has applied these skills in collaborative settings such as TAMUHack, where she helped develop a web application that supports natural disaster relief by connecting users with essential resources. Beyond her academic work, Mairead has served as an instructor for the Rice University ELITE Tech camp, part of the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership (RCEL). In this role, she mentored high school students through hands-on engineering activities, fostering their interest in STEM and problem solving. Her interests center on creating technology that addresses community needs, particularly in education and disability support. After completing her undergraduate studies, she plans to pursue a career in software development and cybersecurity, with a focus on building solutions that strengthen and support the communities around her.
