Fund the Summer 2027 of Coding!
Ten weeks of mentorship, building software that matters. We’re raising $5,000 to bring more students into the 2027 program.
Teamup puts high school and college students in coding teams for a full summer. Ten weeks later, they have working software with their names on it.
It works because the students aren’t building alone. Every team mixes students with different skill sets, and every team has mentors working alongside them. High school students sit on the same teams as college students, and both learn things they wouldn’t have learned separately.
The projects are real. This summer’s group built HORUS, a tool that helps Texas A&M students understand how AI is likely to change the skills their degree is teaching them. It’s live at horus.teamup.org. Nothing about it is a class exercise — there were deadlines, code reviews, and a demo at the end where the work had to actually run.
180 students have come through Teamup since 2023. For Summer 2027, we want to grow that to 40 students in one summer. Reaching $5,000 makes that possible — it covers the real costs of a ten-week program, from laptops and learning materials to the tools teams build on.
Next summer, forty students ship software with their names on it.

What it takes to run a summer
Gifts to this campaign are unrestricted and support Apps for Good wherever the need is greatest. To give a sense of what that covers, running ten weeks includes:
- Laptops — so no student is turned away for lack of a computer.
- Learning materials — the curriculum and resources each team works through.
- Tools & hosting — the software, accounts, and servers teams need to ship a real app.
- AI tools — the model access and developer tools teams build with.
- Program operations — mentor coordination, staffing, and the administrative work that keeps a cohort running.
Every gift is unrestricted and goes wherever it’s most needed to run the program.
Many employers match charitable gifts — so a gift here can go twice as far at no extra cost to you.
