About me
Julia Simko is a senior computer science major interested in pursuing a career in software development or cloud computing. She is also minoring in mathematica. Over the summer she interned at Quanta Services as a cloud infrastructure intern where she gained an exceptional amount of knowledge that will benefit her in her future career. During the school year, she works at Code Ninjas where she teaches children how to code and improve their problem-solving skills. Julia has been given the Dean’s Honor award twice throughout her enrollment at Texas A&M. She was born in Grapevine, Texas but lived most of her life in Kingwood, Texas, which is located Northeast of Houston. When she’s not studying, she likes to play video games, watch movies, and spend time with her husky, Balto. For most of her life she thought she wanted to become a veterinarian, but after looking into the work she would have to do in her day-to-day routine as a vet, she decided to change her dream career. That being said, she had no programming experience going into college, which she thought would make her academic life much harder. She was up for the challenge though, despite it’s difficulties.
