Rafael Perez is a sophomore Computer Science student at Texas A&M University and will be an incoming junior in the fall. He is interested in software development, problem-solving, and learning how technology can be used to create practical solutions for real-world challenges. Through his coursework, he has gained experience with Java, C++, and Python, and he is continuing to build his skills in programming, data structures, and software development. Rafael has also completed an independent research project on electroplating, where he explored how factors such as temperature and electrolyte concentration can affect the copper electroplating process. This experience strengthened his interest in research, technical problem-solving, and applying knowledge beyond the classroom. He hopes to use Apps for Good to gain hands-on experience building meaningful software, collaborate with other students and mentors, and contribute to a project that creates positive change.
