Junwei (Jack) Lao is a Computer Science undergraduate at Texas A&M University. His academic and technical interests focus on systems-level software engineering, performance optimization, and full-stack development. He has led projects across research and systems, including a C++ Markov-chain random walk simulator with multi-threaded optimization and Qt5 visualization for large-scale simulation research, as well as a high-performance TCP request server exploring batch-processing architectures to improve CPU efficiency and reduce context switching. He also developed TAMUEvent, a full-stack campus event discovery website using React, Flask, and PostgreSQL, with automated data scraping and storing pipelines and deployment on Google Cloud Platform. Proficient in C++, Python, Linux, and modern web technologies, he is interested in building efficient software systems and pursuing advanced work in systems and performance-oriented software engineering.
